Job summary Ward Sister/Charge Nurse Band 6- Ward 5a (23 hours a week) A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a band 6 registered nurse to join our innovative team on ward 5a where we care for patient's admitted with general surgical conditions. Emergency surgical nursing is an interesting, challenging and rewarding specialty where there is opportunity to enhance knowledge and clinical skills as well as deliver fundamental aspects of nursing care. Main duties of the job We are looking for an enthusiastic registered nurse with an interest in general surgery, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a part of a team. Applicants should have the ability to lead on, prioritise and manage the health care needs of a group of patients, showing commitment to develop competencies and specialist skills of their own and other team members. Candidates should be supportive to all bands and members of the multidisciplinary team with whom we work closely. They should also be willing to support and supervise junior and less experienced staff and students, acting as a role model.
