The Project Manager is to deliver multiple ongoing projects, to the specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. The role also involves working closely with the Estimating Department, site delivery teams and surveyors to ensure that projects are completed safely, whilst ensuring customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General management
2. Produce financial forecasts, monitoring and control project costs and cost reporting, and produce monthly reports to the Contracts Manager on project performance, efficient team building and labour organisation
3. Deliver projects from the design phase to completion including all handover documentation
4. Review progress, budget resources and planning
5. Review work packages and ensure the scope of work is clearly defined and understood
6. Chair weekly site meetings and ensure the production of accurate records of any discussions and actions
7. Build and maintain good relationships with the customer, framework suppliers, and design consultants
8. Develop and maintain construction programmes with staff
9. Co-ordinate and manage site investigations during the ongoing construction process
10. Develop engineering solutions so that a buildable cost-effective construction solution is delivered that fulfils the client’s requirements
11. Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, risk assessments, method statements, site waste management plans, and procurement of plant and materials are in line with company procedures
12. Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed
13. Maintain commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quo
14. Prepare comprehensive estimates for additional work outside target costs
15. Assist with estimating new tenders
16. Chase potential new clients
17. Health, safety and environmental
Quality
1. Be responsible for managing and producing ITPs and ensure they are signed off by relevant parties
2. Ensure that the QA File is produced and maintained
3. Close out any technical queries
4. Ensure as-builts and O&M manuals are submitted to the client on completion

Person Specification:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing projects within the Civil and Water sectors, also the candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential
1. Good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting.
2. Ability to use Primavera P6 software or equivalent
3. Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
4. CSCS manager’s card
5. SMSTS
6. Knowledge of the NEC contract including the Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms
7. Excellent communication, people and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and mentor
8. Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to a conclusion
9. Ability to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance
10. Problem-solving and analytical thinking
11. Experience of a direct labour organisation
