Job overview
The Sister / Charge Nurse takes responsibility and is accountable for delegated nursing care within the clinical environment. They provide nursing leadership and are accountable for patient, public, and staff experience. They will lead, offer clinical advice, and support management of services to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective, and compassionate nursing care. This will be in line with local, Trust wide and national policies, procedures, values, and behaviours.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse with an interest in developing their leadership skills to join our existing team to continue to provide the highest quality patient care. We welcome applications from nurses that have acute hospital experience at a Band 5 level, and with a keen interest in elderly care and the development of their professional nursing career. Our teams are motivated, committed, and creative and want to develop in order to provide the best care we can.
* Managing a caseload of patients and being involved in complex discharge planning working collaboratively within MDT to provide high quality care and timely discharges.
* Supporting and guiding junior colleagues, acting as a role model for student nurses.
* Deputising for the ward manager in their absence.
