Lead Engineer
The Role
As a Lead Engineer you are responsible for all technical aspects of the engineering project execution including coordination, task assignment and efforts of multiple teams within this and other departments to meet the aims of the project. You will ensure a clear project specification and design concept is available and understood in particular the extent/scope of the design, analysis and documentation required at each stage. · Work closely with the project manager to deliver the required outputs to quality, time budget and reporting in line with department requirements
· Perform engineering work for the projects such as report writing, design studies, drawing approval and presentation material
· Liaison with customers at every stage of the project being the interface between the department and the customer. Communicate any additional requirements and changes to both internal and external stakeholders as required.
· Coordinate design for manufacture within the wider project team
· Have a thorough and detailed understanding of the project contracts in particular the technical specifications and related standards including limitations of technical and design authority, decision making, communication and security.

The Candidate
This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance, be a British Citizen and working or have residency in the UK for a minimum of 5 years. · Mechanical Design Degree or Equivalent demonstrable experience
· 5 years plus of design Experience
· Technical knowledge of rotating equipment is essential for this role, ideally turbines
· Able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.

· Can commit to and keep tight deadlines.
· Excellent Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a variety of formats and with stakeholders at all levels
