About the Department & Team:
As part of the LII delivery team, this role will focus on delivering the strategic goals of the Portfolio Solutions business area globally through the implementation of transformative business processes and technology changes. These initiatives will uplift our priority capabilities as identified through the business model design work and are crucial for achieving the strategic goals of the organization.
The Senior Delivery Manager will work closely with partners in Business Architecture, Business Agility, Technology, Change Management, Support functions, and directly with the regional Business teams, delivering major initiatives, small enhancements, and operating model changes that enable the achievement of LII strategic goals.
This exciting role will initially lead the delivery of our Delegated Authority and Bordereaux Management initiatives across LII, ensuring strategic and operational alignment across the outcomes. In alignment with the strategy and business model, the BDX management TOM includes building the long-term global BDX management operation and delivering high-quality data to the downstream function as part of a low-touch digital operating model.
The role requires collaboration with various departments to ensure alignment with the business model and strategy, aiming to build a long-term global BDX management capability and deliver high-quality data to downstream functions.
LII has identified this role as key to the effective delivery of business outcomes by coordinating efforts across LII and GRS into ‘one team’ with a unified vision, working towards common objectives and timelines. This role requires delivery experience within an insurance environment.
In addition, this role will work closely with the GRS Delegated Authority initiative, ensuring alignment and collaboration between LII and GRS office of operations in common capability areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with Sponsor(s) and Senior Stakeholders to create a delivery approach that results in the required business outcomes for Portfolio Solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities arising from Strategic Operations Target Operating Model analysis.
2. Contributes to the development of the vision and roadmap, communicating this vision and roadmap to the delivery team across multiple business units.
3. Overall ownership of the delivery of all workstreams, with oversight of individual workstream delivery leads for their committed deliverables.
4. Accountable for developing and achieving Operational Key Results (OKRs), as defined in conjunction with the wider delivery team.
5. Owns and maintains the roadmap as developed through the quarterly delivery cycles and is accountable for its delivery from inception to completion.
6. Orchestrates the partnership of delivery across business architecture, business agility, technology, and change management to enable the overall achievement of business goals.
7. Provides progress/status reporting to the demand pathway leadership and relevant governance forums.
8. Supports submission of relevant governance forums to achieve approval for initiatives and any significant changes, ensuring a clear cost to completion.
9. Sets goals and priorities and actively participates in squad/team quarterly planning, collaborating with sponsors and senior stakeholders.
10. Ensures business readiness and capacity planning provides input into the Business Agility and Technology planning process.
11. Supports the removal of blockers/impediments in the delivery of outcomes, including collaboration with teams outside of delivery teams, including active risk and dependency management.
12. Works daily with working groups, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, and supporting alignment across workstreams.
13. Ensures the change management components are part of the delivery in addition to technology and business change delivery.
14. Effectively manages the prioritization of planned or potential change to the delivery of outcomes, reporting on feasibility and other aspects.
15. Negotiates with internal and external teams to ensure priorities are aligned across squads/teams within and outside the demand pathway.
16. Works with the Demand Pathway and Agile Portfolio Office (APO) to embed agility across the organization.
Skills and Experience:
1. Extensive experience as an initiative/programme/delivery manager.
2. Change implementation experience within the insurance market in London/Europe.
3. Delegated Authority experience is essential.
4. Experience working with delivery teams aligned to agile ways of working and creating business value through business and technical change initiatives.
5. Knowledge of insurance is essential.
6. Strong problem solver with the ability to work with a team to maximize progress and overall effectiveness.
7. Proven track record in the delivery of insurance-related initiatives.
8. Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
9. Demonstrable experience delivering complex initiatives.
10. Experience working with or in Agile teams.
11. Ability to influence the direction and thinking of senior stakeholders.
12. Strong teamwork, coordination, organization, and planning skills.
13. Ability to capture complex requirements in a delivery plan.
14. Ability to understand strategic needs while focusing on the customer.
