Following the addition of GPs to the Additional Role Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), Stort Valley Healthcare are looking for newly qualified (within 2 years and not having had a substantive post), enthusiastic, forward-thinking GPs to join our primary care network on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025. There is the possibility for an extension subject to funding. We will consider applications for between 4 and 9 sessions with a start date as soon as possible. It is likely you will work for one of our practices or it may be that you also oversee or get involved in PCN-wide projects. We are open to discuss what may work for you and us. If, for example, you are able to commit to 9 sessions (full-time), then we will look to offer in return, one CPD session and 1 special interest session. You may have an interest in dermatology, women’s health, children’s health, psychiatry, public health, frailty or other area. Whatever your interests and specialisms, we are keen to hear from you and open to discussing the role further. Day-to-day services are likely to include the following: Face to face and telephone consultations. Patient Home visits and Care Home visits. Checking and signing repeat prescriptions. Administration - dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters NHS/private, task, emails and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner. Cover all the clinical management of patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate. Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well wider guidance such as that from NICE. Please see job description attached for more details. About the Candidate Fully qualified GP with GMC registration. Q ualified after October 2022 (i.e. less than 2 years). Previous experience within a GP practice (not in a substantive post). Demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, with the ability to prioritise and triage the needs of patients. Consistently compassionate and respectful placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues. Willing to be flexible - it may be that your locations of work need to change periodically in line with patient needs. Willing to travel across the Stort Valley & Villages PCN locality. Comfortable visiting patients in care home settings or their home. The practices have a combined population of 68k. There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators.
