The HR Team
The HR function is split across six key areas: Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Reward, Change & Delivery and Learning & Development. This team’s sole purpose is to work harmoniously with the strategic lens necessary to deliver the Human Resource strategy, ensuring a high standard of service to the firm’s internal clients to assist in developing the professional reputation of the department.
Role Context
The Senior Benefits Advisor is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the firm's compensation and benefits philosophy, practice, and policy across our global offices. The Senior Benefits Advisor will play a crucial role in the delivery of global benefit reviews, benefit benchmarking, recognition, pension, and health and wellbeing initiatives. The role will report to the Reward and Benefits Manager and will have the opportunity to get involved in Reward activities.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Benefits process administration:
o Responsible for the day-to-day management of all UK and international benefits processes.
o Resolve employee issues with insurance providers and other benefits administrators, deploying analytical and problem solving skills.
o Coordinate and manage the benefits enrolment process.
o Maintain and update benefits records and documents.
o Ability to analyse and improve benefit administration processes, for example the deployment and maintenance of a flexible benefits platform.
o Contribute to broader reward-related projects and the development of reporting MI, frequently on Excel, to aid firm-wide decision-making.
2. Relationships:
o Work with insurance brokers and benefits carriers to negotiate competitive coverage terms and costs on behalf of the company.
o Maintain strong relationships with the entire HR Team to answer benefit related queries, and the Reward and Benefits team to develop and administer a joined-up Reward and Benefits strategy.
o Collaborate with the Internal Communications team to support employee communications on benefits.
o Experience of stakeholder engagement and presenting ideas with impact, to advise senior teams on benefit strategies.
3. Maintain a competitive and appropriate benefit offering:
o Understand key competitors' benefit strategies, and how they differ in our global operating markets, to ensure our offerings are competitive and aligned with market standards.
o Stay informed on benefits trends and legislation that could impact the Firm's benefits offerings.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Communication:
o Communicate benefits information to employees through presentations, individual sessions, and written materials.
o Provide training and support to the HR team on benefits-related matters as needed.
o Assist with the management of the benefits budget. Participate in the annual budgeting process for Reward in collaboration with the Finance team.
o Be the main point of contact for Charles Russell Speechlys on benefits re-brokering, and the procurement of benefits platforms.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in a benefit advisory role, preferably within a legal or professional services firm.
* Professional certification such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or similar is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of benefits legislation and compliance requirements.
* Proficient in HRIS and benefits administration software.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
* Ability to work effectively on both strategic and operational matters.

* Credible and articulate, with a strong grasp of benefits systems and policies.
* Ability to create, maintain and analyse large data sets.
* Willingness to apply knowledge and skills to practical tasks, including benchmarking and benefits processes.
