About Us
Priory Healthcare is one of the UK's leading providers of independent specialist secure and step-down care across the UK. With hospitals around the country, 30 years of experience in our sector and highly skilled and experienced teams, we help patients and commissioners find the right care pathways without the need for multiple reassessments.
The Ayr Clinic, with its two step down services - Gatehouse and Lochlea, is a low secure setting, caring for men and women with mental illness and/or personality disorders.
About the Job
As a Newly Qualified Nurse, you will be working for one of the UK's leading health care providers. You will be supported to grow in your career with our Nursing Preceptorship Programme, helping you to build on your existing skillset while practicing in a nurse-led environment.
You will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills when liaising with members of the multi-disciplinary team, external agencies and organisations, patients and relatives. You should also have a good working knowledge of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. The appropriate nursing degree in Mental Health or Learning Disability is essential.
As a Nurse, your key duties include:
* Provide a high standard of care to people with mental illness and personality disorder
* Develop therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement
* Contribute to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress
* Follow all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice
To be successful in the role you will bring a positive attitude with the ability to adapt, develop and keen to learn. You will be organised and motivated with excellent team working skills and have the commitment to provide patient-centred care, values-based and evidence-based practice.
In return for your expertise and hard work, we also offer a wide range of benefits:
* A competitive salary
* 25 days' annual leave (increasing with length of service to a maximum of 30)
* Birthday off
* Contributory pension scheme
* Life insurance
* Opportunities to develop and progress in a wide variety of care settings
* Free car parking
* Subsidised meals
* Employee benefits scheme (e.g., discounted shopping vouchers, interest-free Apple Products loan scheme)
* Full onsite induction training and orientation programme
Proven skills and experience are a good start in this team, however what's really important is a sincere, caring approach towards our patients. We are looking for people who believe that each person deserves the best, who respects the dignity of others, and are warm, friendly, with a good sense of humour too. If you can also bring honesty, dedication and an organised approach, you could be the perfect fit for Ayr Clinic.
If this sounds like you, we look forward to receiving your application. Please contact Laura Stevenson or Calum Fraser, our Directors of Clinical Services, if you would like to know more about the role and our Hospital.
Disclosure: All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from Disclosure Scotland. Priory Group will cover the cost of the check.
We are an equal opportunities employer.
