Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Design and organisation of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations
* Experience preparing quotations, with good commercial awareness.
* Project managing all aspects of site investigation schemes.
* Strong report writing skills and an ability to self-check work and technically review the work of others.
* Geotechnical design experience including foundations, retaining walls, slope stability assessments and earthworks design (including specification preparation).
* Client care including internal and external clients
* Mentoring and training junior team members
* Some involvement in marketing and business development of the company.
General:
* At all times work safely, ensuring your own safety and that of others in the Company
* At all times work within all Company procedures and protocols
* Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the Company
Person Specification
Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications:
* Degree qualified to a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geography, Civil Engineering or Similar subject
* An MEng or Masters in a Geotechnics or Environmental based course (desirable but not essential)
* Minimum of 5-years prior experience in a similar role
* Enthusiasm to move on to the next stage of your career in Geotechnical Engineering/Geo-environmental consultancy underpinned through an understanding of our sector and work and a desire to take on more responsibility
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Excellent communication skills and experience of working in collaboration with other engineers
* Have a strong commercial awareness
* Be dedicated to the delivery of projects, and the development of the team and business as a whole
* Be planned and organised in your approach to work and meeting deadlines
* Be flexible to the needs of the business, and changes to project plans
* Hold a UK drivers’ licence or equivalent (essential)
