FMCG Environment
Acting as part of a hands-on technical team, responsible for the management of the Technical Administrator and Specification Technologist(s). You will provide support with customer complaint investigations, reviewing and maintaining technical systems, management of site visits and audits, as well as ensuring product is produced to high quality and customer standards and within safety and legality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting direct reports and teams in providing training and development plans.
2. Assisting the QA Manager and QA teams with their decision-making processes.
3. A holistic approach, building relationships with other departments to achieve shared KPIs.
4. Managing day-to-day issues with the production teams and ensuring appropriate actions are taken and documented.
5. Supporting and developing the site-based Quality Management System.
6. Assisting in new product trials and providing feedback of key challenges.
7. Ensuring compliance within your area of responsibility.
8. Key member of the HACCP Food Safety Plan, deputy to the team leader.
9. Leading site technical audits and visits in absence of the Technical Manager.
10. Leading independent projects as needed.
11. Developing expertise across the site, fully understanding processes and constraints.
12. Undertaking ad-hoc duties as required.
13. Delivering on key performance indicators including people, quality, health, safety, environment, cost optimization, customer service, and project delivery.
14. Challenging current processes and practices for continuous improvement.
15. Objectively assessing direct reports' performance and developing improvement plans.
16. Ensuring clarity of role for team members, including task assignment and feedback.
17. Maintaining knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
18. Upholding good housekeeping and hygiene practices for product safety.
19. Reviewing and updating training requirements in line with current legislation.
20. Respecting ethical policies and codes of conduct when interacting with colleagues.
21. Ensuring staff are trained to carry out their work within legislative and Health and Safety guidelines.
22. Identifying workplace hazards and taking corrective action.
23. Promoting Health, Safety, and Environmental awareness.
24. Managing energy and waste within the department.

Job Related Experience, Knowledge & Skills
1. Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related).
2. Proven track record of managing large teams.
3. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
4. Experience of health and safety.
5. Management of quality systems.
6. Ability to interact with high profile customers.
General Attainment & Training
1. All core training and mandatory procedures.
2. All relevant site/area policies, procedures & processes.
3. Experience in continuous improvement and lean principles/tools.
4. Food Safety Level 4.
5. HACCP Level 4.
6. IOSH.
