Hours: 35 hours per week. Standard working hours between 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

We are recruiting a senior programme coordinator to join the Accreditation Unit that sits within the Care Quality Improvement Directorate. This role is offered within a hybrid working environment with a blend of office and homeworking.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and high performing team within the well-established and highly successful Accreditation Unit at the Royal College of Physicians. We are looking for an experienced and proactive senior programme coordinator who can manage multiple cross-cutting projects, deliver excellent customer service to busy clinicians and proactively engage pulmonary rehabilitation, allergy, and clinical immunology services in our work to improve the quality of care for patients.
You will join the team to lead the engagement and improvement work delivered by the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services Accreditation Scheme (known as PRSAS), Improving Quality in Allergy Services (known as IQAS), and Quality in Primary Immunodeficiency Services (known as QPIDS) accreditation programmes.
About the role
As senior programme coordinator, you will make an impact every day by:
1. Overseeing the projects, deliverables and resources, which includes line managing a small team and supporting them with the delivery of their projects.
2. Overseeing the accreditation pathway from start-to-finish, ensuring that the assessment process is managed efficiently and to high quality standards, and our stakeholders feel well supported.
3. Providing ideas to improve what we do, bringing in creativity and enthusiasm for process improvement and change.
4. Delivering projects to improve the quality of the programmes and the service that we offer pulmonary rehabilitation, allergy, and clinical immunology services across the UK and Ireland.
About you
The successful candidate will:
1. Be exceptionally organised.
2. Have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to seek out and implement improvements in our processes.
3. Be able to confidently liaise and communicate with a range of individuals, including senior external stakeholders and clinicians, building great working relationships.
4. Be experienced at planning and working to deadlines, using own initiative, and able to work flexibly as a member of a busy team.
5. Have a passion for improving the healthcare workforce and be experienced in project delivery.

The Care Quality Improvement Directorate supports the RCP’s strategic aim to improve care for patients. The Accreditation Unit (AU) comprises around 32 staff and 80 external accreditation assessors who work across six clinical areas. We are highly experienced and credible at leading professionally led and patient-centred clinical accreditation programmes as well as developing training packages for the endoscopy workforce. Each accreditation programme has a clinical lead and is supported by a multi-disciplinary steering group that includes patient representation. Accreditation is a method of improving the quality of healthcare by assessing clinical services in relation to agreed standards.
Within the AU, our team manages the PRSAS, IQAS and QPIDS accreditation programmes, we support improvement in the respective clinical services to ensure the highest quality of care for patients across the UK and Ireland.
