About us
The UCL Division of Psychology and Language Sciences wishes to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching) to support teaching and management of the MSc Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), a two-year pre-registration training accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). The successful applicant will join a large programme team based within the Department of Language & Cognition, in Bloomsbury, London.
About the role
The successful applicant will lead a module on the management of speech, swallowing and voice disorders, coordinating and delivering teaching, undertaking module assessment, and reviewing the module. They will lead the implementation and monitoring of mandatory eating, drinking and swallowing clinical competencies. They will ensure that teaching is research-led and engage in project supervision. They will be allocated general programme duties, including interviewing applicants, acting as a clinical tutor to students on placement, and as a personal tutor, and assessing clinical vivas.
The position is offered on a permanent basis with a proposed start date of January 2025.
Interviews will be conducted on Tuesday, 10th of December 2024.
A DBS clearance will be required for this position.

About you
The successful applicant will be a HCPC registered speech and language therapist with:
* expertise in the domain of disorders of eating, drinking and swallowing, including clinical management
* experience of applying evidence to the management of speech, swallowing and voice disorders, and teaching at undergraduate and/or masters level
* working knowledge of a range of learning, teaching and assessment approaches
* experience of supervising students clinically and/or for research projects
* working knowledge of the RCSLT pre-registration mandatory eating, drinking and swallowing clinical competencies
Evidence of scholarly activity in the domain of eating, drinking and swallowing, and/or vocal tract disorders is desirable.
