The Graduate Programme includes the opportunity to join our Land & Natural Resources Team based out of our Quorn House offices, in Quorn, Leicestershire. Main Responsibilities It is important for us to ensure the land we own is managed responsibly, sustainably restored and maintained for the benefit of our business, local people, biodiversity and the communities in which we operate in. Working as a graduate in our Land and Natural Resources team will see you playing a key role in the future sustainability of our business. A typical day could include: Working in close liaison with the Regional Head of Estates and Estates Managers, to meet objectives in relation to mineral and land acquisition and development, Understanding and working to planning consents for mineral working, ancillary and added value operations Working on the delivery of rental enhancement and built development opportunities as well as compliance with planning and tenure agreements Gaining a clear understanding of the principles of land and mineral ownership, Landlord & Tenant relationships and T&CP policy and development control process Managing Landlord & Tenant relationships Preparing and reviewing planning applications including the review of specialist consultant reports Preparing written reports Seeking opportunities for enhancing the financial return from a diverse range of property assets Interacting and assisting with the development of Tarmac’s Electronic Property Information System Whilst you’re learning on the job, you’ll attend our Graduate core Skills Development Programme designed to expand your business knowledge, strengthen core skills and offer networking opportunities with other graduates and key stakeholders across the Tarmac business in order to successfully transition into your destination role Destination Role – Land Surveyor, Estates Management Team, Environmental Team Key Operational Colleagues you will liaise with in this role of Graduate Land Surveyor : Other managers within the L&NR team & Head of L&NR (your core team who will support you to get a good grounding in our industry External bodies Tenants & landlords Operations Managers/ Business Leads Internal and External Legal Team HR & Early Careers (there to support the development of your career) What you get from us: Your line manager and mentor will give you help and guidance throughout your graduate programme The Tarmac Early Careers community, who you will collaborate and spend time with throughout your graduate experience Your Tarmac colleagues, who most of your daily interactions will be with Health and Safety Team, always on hand to make sure we are working safely, although safety is everyone’s responsibility Human Resources, here to support the development of your career with Tarmac The Ideal Candidate Our people come from a variety of different backgrounds and prior experience isn’t always necessary for success.
