The Technology Department ensures differentiation, scalability, and security, reporting to the COO. It delivers digital tools, software services, and infrastructure globally. Teams work in agile streams aligned to business areas, providing enterprise-wide services like global service desk, network, system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture, and design.
The Business Technology function collaborates with each Marex business area to optimize technology stacks, prioritize strategic roadmaps, and manage the software delivery lifecycle. Each team is aligned with a business division and works with development and support teams, supported by a global implementation team.
Based in London, the Head of Clearing Technology will oversee technology services for Marex Clearing, responsible for the FCM offering, providing clearing and execution services for commodities, financial futures, and options. The role has a global remit, interacting with UK and US clearing teams.
This role involves working closely with business owners and senior stakeholders to define requirements, and managing development and support functions with dual reporting lines. The role will prioritize and deliver services in alignment with business needs, managing team size and composition to meet service expectations and strengthen client relationships.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify and support strategic technological directions for Marex Clearing.
2. Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
3. Build and communicate delivery roadmaps.
4. Optimize the Technology footprint for cost-effectiveness.
5. Work with senior stakeholders to prioritize delivery and service.
6. Ensure alignment with Technology Strategy and standards.
7. Innovate with new solutions and evaluate third-party products.
8. Create initiatives and manage projects with clear acceptance criteria.
9. Oversee project delivery, ensuring timeliness and budget adherence.
10. Prioritize business requirements and provide status updates.
11. Ensure infrastructure and systems are of production quality and well-documented.
12. Maintain awareness of risk, regulatory, audit, and compliance standards.
13. Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.
14. Define and uphold best software development practices.
15. Promote an inclusive culture and effective change management.

Skills and Experience:
Essential:
* Deep knowledge of FCM and Clearing products in a financial institution.
* Experience with vendor systems like ION, Broadridge.
* Vendor management and large project delivery experience.
* Product development in an Agile environment.
* Stakeholder management and business analysis skills.
* Excellent communication.
* Delivery focus with leadership qualities.
* Experience architecting secure, reliable, scalable infrastructure and software.
Desirable:
* Knowledge across multiple asset classes, especially commodities.
* Trade lifecycle understanding.
* Experience with Trading Technologies, Pricing, Risk, and Algo Trading.
* Project planning and coordination skills.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies, Cloud services, hosting, and deployment.
* Experience in regulated environments with compliance understanding.
