WHAT’S ON OFFER:
We have a great opportunity to work for one of the biggest and most recognised food businesses in the UK at the Ashford site as part of the Supply Chain Team.
As our Production Planner, you will be working with the team in Ashford to produce items and maintain high customer service levels whilst continually looking to reduce cost and waste. You will be responsible for maintaining the schedules and coordinating with all departments involved.
The Production Planner role will be responsible for:
* Updating and maintaining the schedules on a weekly basis and providing narrative, highlighting risks against the delivery requirements.
* Planning Team to prepare for Customer Service calls.
* Producing accurate weekly production plans that are aligned with the needs of Operations around engineering work, labour, and skills.
* Delivering monthly reports on long-term line utilisation with ideas on how to optimise plans to drive production efficiencies and reduce costs.
* Calculating optimum stock holdings and setting up systems accordingly.
* Monitoring potential or actual out of stock situations and taking appropriate actions.
* Monitoring product shelf-life and actively working with other departments to ensure the most cost-effective sales route is found for any at-risk stock.
* Building relationships with internal factory contacts: other planners, factory management, and other factory functions e.g. QA, Finance & Logistics.
What we need from you:
* Educated to degree level, highly desirable and/or equivalent planning experience.
* Highly competent in the use of IT software, especially Excel.
* Highly analytical and able to work under pressure and on own initiative.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of production planning, material supply, and NPD processes but not essential.
* Competent user of SAP planning systems but not essential.
* Knowledge of planning processes including creating plans and scheduling but not essential.
