We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Planner to join our dynamic Area 10 team based onsite Rochdale - Milnrow Motorway Unit (OL164LG).
In this role, you will play an important part in planning, maintaining, and delivering the highway cyclic and reactive maintenance programme in Area 10.
Amey is working on behalf of National Highways in Area 10 which is made up of 300 miles of strategic road network including some of the region's busiest motorways: the M6, M56 and M62, we provide routine, cyclic and winter maintenance, and response across the whole of the Northwest, also overseeing traffic management during incidents. Ensuring our roads are well- maintained and well- managed, through all-weather seasons we aim to help reduce traffic incidents and severity of road accidents as well as ensure road user of the Northwest feel safer.
The standard hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week.
What You'll Do:
Develop and manage the cyclical maintenance programme for Area 10 annually to include working with operational and commercial team, developing a programme that is safe, efficient, and effective a forward programme for the lifetime of the contract, to include profiled resourcing requirements
Track progress, incorporate changes and forecast delivery dates and expenditure
Coordinate within the team to develop and manage reactive maintenance programme for Area 10, minimum rolling three months programme
Engage with the Client and other key stakeholders through regular communications including weekly / monthly planning meetings and other forums.
Prepare periodic reports, statistics, and answers to enquiries concerning the programme
Ensure high standards of programming and road space booking are carried out to meet client and contract requirements

Highly organised with an excellent attention to detail and meticulous approach.
Advanced use of the Microsoft Office suite (excel) and preferably but not essential Primavera P6, plus other tools/systems as defined by the project or client.
Preferable but not essential experience of highways maintenance operations.
Ideally but not essential you will have experience in the use of Primavera P6, and knowledge in highways maintenance operations and be able to demonstrate project management skills. In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have experience in planning/project management to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
