Scientist- Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS)

We are looking for:
To continue our growth as a premier Contract Research Organisation, Pharmaron is opening a new Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) Laboratory at our Hoddesdon site. We are looking for a Scientist to joing this new team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and analysing samples from clinical AMS enabled studies, including mass balance, metabolite profiling and identification and IVPK (absolute bioavailability).

Key roles and responsibilities:
4. To understand (through hand-on laboratory training), the analytical techniques and procedures involved in AMS-enabled clinical studies
5. Perform the roles and responsibilities of a Scientist II, demonstrating competence in the use and maintenance of instrumentation and routine activities of the AMS group
6. With oversight from scientific supervisor / line manager, to prepare samples for analysis by AMS, LSC and LC
7. Take responsibility for instrumentation / processes within the group as agreed with the Line Manager
8. Review data generated and prepare study updates and study data for internal reporting and discussion
9. To communicate results and status of deliverables to key stakeholders
10. Take responsibility for instrumentation / processes within the group as agreed with the Line Manager
11. Contribute to the review and QC checking of all relevant study data packages and reports prior to submission to Quality Assurance as required.
12. Address findings arising from QA audits and process inspections.
13. To collaborate with global AMS and metabolism team members and contribute towards continuous improvement and efficiency optimization
Requirements:
14. PhD, MSc or BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics or related subject
15. Experience of working within a GxP laboratory setting
16. Experience of sample processing and analytical techniques e.g. HPLC
17. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present scientific findings to colleagues and clients
18. Effective problem solving and analysis skills
19. Excellent planning and organization skills – ability to multi-task, manage time and work to tight deadlines
20. Flexible mindset with the ability to take the initiative.
