As Secretary, you will play an important role in our charity's mission, ensuring effective governance and compliance with our legal responsibilities. What difference will you make? At Flourish Mentors, we're dedicated to making sure no young woman is invisible. We are a small but growing charity, registered in December 2021, and we offer free wellbeing support to young women - aged 16-25 - in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex. We are proudly LGBTQIA inclusive, and aim to help any young woman who comes to us, tackling their problems whether big or small. We provide individualised one to one mentoring and fun experiential workshops, giving our mentees sustainable and life-enhancing skills. To date we've delivered workshops to just under 500 young women, and we're currently supporting 45-50 mentoring partnerships. All our interventions aim to help young women increase their confidence and self-awareness, decrease their anxiety, and focus on fulfilling their dreams. What are we looking for? Person specification Ability to commit between one and three hours a week to the Secretary role - largely virtual, with occasional in-person activities. Basic understanding of charity governance, regulations, and the responsibilities of Trustees (essential). Strong administrative skills, with a high level of attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Dedication to the wellbeing of young women. Commitment to LGBTQIA inclusion. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Alignment to Flourish's values of co-creation, playfulness, inclusivity, kindness and empowerment. What will you be doing?
