NJC SCP 11 - 15 (£27,269 - £29,093)

Full Time 37 hours per week Monday – Friday
Groby Parish Council is seeking to recruit a full-time Grounds and Maintenance Manager to join a small, close working team. The applicant should be able to work with the minimum of supervision; display initiative and have a pro-active approach to carrying out the general grounds maintenance and gardening duties within the Parish of Groby.
You will be responsible for ensuring that Parish Council owned land (Groby cemetery, play areas, open spaces) and properties are maintained to a high standard for the benefit of all users. You will also be expected to ensure that health and safety compliance is adhered to at all times.
The applicant must have good interpersonal skills adaptable to the needs of the role. There will be times when you are required to work closely with the public, volunteers, the Council’s staff, and Councillors. You will also need to be self-motivated with a willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
You will need to have a full driving licence, relevant horticultural, grounds and maintenance experience, good organisational skills and previous experience of working in a supervisory capacity. You will also need experience in operating equipment such as pedestrian mowers, ride-on mowers, trimmers and hand tools. Full duties are listed in the Job Description.
