Element Materials Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Test Technician to join our team in Altens, Aberdeen. You will receive the appropriate mentoring, training and education to enable you to successfully perform the variety of materials testing required in order to support our customer’s needs. An understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles and materials would be advantageous but not essential, more importantly we are looking for someone who is practical and passionate about developing a career with one of the world’s leading Testing, Inspection and Certification companies. Performing mechanical and metallurgical testing functions relating to the specialist operations of the laboratory in accordance with recognised standards Conducting testing at customer's facilities when needed Performing routine preventative maintenance on laboratory testing equipment Ensuring that measuring devices are accurate and within calibration Ensuring that test results are recorded accurately and correctly in accordance with laboratory procedures Monitoring the availability of laboratory test items Contribute to the improvement of the site and efficiency of the laboratory by implementing agreed improvement actions Carrying out other duties as reasonably requested Ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness and housekeeping are maintained Undertake and complete satisfactorily any training as required Ability to obtain, record (accurately) measurements using appropriate instruments Confident in using MS Office Software A clear and effective communicator, both verbally and written Can read and interpret worksheets, engineering drawings Impact us by evaluating and improving our practices and processes Work effectively with colleagues to deliver a service that satisfies expectations Operate safely, reliably and effectively with minimal supervision following training Able to identify problems and to seek appropriate assistance in their solution Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
