We are EES Solutions, a pioneering engineering solutions provider across various sectors like Rail, Automotive, Marine, and Energy.
This is an exciting contract position where you'll work closely with our dedicated automotive clientele.
This project engineering role involves delivering a programme for a prestigious automotive manufacturer who produces vehicles for worldwide distribution.
You will be responsible for defining and feasibility of interior/exterior/functional components, leading to their full development, testing, and release for a new model in the automotive sector.
We seek a highly motivated individual who can own their commodities and deliver them at pace and high quality in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Establish, plan, and run meetings for cross-functional representation and input from all relevant areas.
* Initial establishment of feasibility for features outlined in the initial project scope, followed by full design, delivery, and release of exterior commodities.
* Compile engineering development/commodity timing plans for each component.
* Communicate delivery progress to the EES Project Lead on a regular basis.
* Ensure programme timing objectives are met.
* Identify risks to the programme and propose mitigation measures.
* Follow-on project - ensure vehicle builds are supported with parts at the required level.
* Address and close off issues at each key gateway of the project.
Requirements:
* Mechanical and interior/exterior/functional & accessory experience required.
* Experience in product feasibility, requirements definition, systems design, functional performance, system testing, designing for production, and manufacturing assembly.
* Proven project engineering capability demonstrated by recent on-time and budget deliveries.
* Previous delivery of interior, exterior, functional accessory components using project delivery processes such as PCDS/PPAP/eAPQP, AIMS/WERS/iCREATE or similar.
* Supplier management.
Desirable Skills:
* Parts design and release.
* Delivering new or modified exterior systems for large OEM production.
* FEA Analysis.
* Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Qualified.
* Working knowledge of change management processes.
* Working knowledge of RMDV requirements and test database.
* Delivering accessory commodities including exterior, interior/exterior protection.
Skills:
* CAD Literacy: ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.
* Ability to generate CAD data Catia v5/6.
* Experience of JIRA toolset and AGILE methodologies.
* Excellent communications skills.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
* Experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, problem resolution etc 8D.
* Experienced with Microsoft Tool – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Self-motivated.
Education:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant Mechanical Engineering/Design Engineering.
