Head of Finance - Education - Slough, On-Site - £45,000 - £55,000

They currently seek a Head of Finance to join their Senior Leadership Team and act as the key contact for all things finance.
This role will be required to work year-round rather than just term-time.
As the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will :
1. Lead, maintain, and develop financial procedures to ensure the institution is compliant with all statutory financial requirements
2. Ensure the robust development and maintenance of financial systems, including internal controls and regulatory frameworks
3. Continually ensure the financial policies for the school are up to date and fit-for-purpose
4. Be responsible for running monthly end-to-end payroll processes for circa 150 staff
5. Be responsible for the monthly management reporting cycle including analyses on variance, risk and opportunities
6. Be the lead contact to liaise with auditors ensuring financial compliance
7. Ensure compliance with the Data Protection, GDPR and Freedom of Information Act
8. Line manage a finance team of 2
9. Work as part of the Schools senior leadership team, under the Headteacher and alongside other Heads of Function(s)
The ideal Head of Finance we are looking for will have:
10. Prior experience working in the education sector is essential
11. Worked in a similar capacity where they are fully responsible for finance as a function
12. An understanding of the nuances in finance that come along with being in the education sector, rather than a commercial entity
