Position: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Term Time Only)
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:20 am - 4pm (Term Time Only)
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students at KS3/KS4 level.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH and behavioural needs in a classroom environment.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored interventions and differentiated learning activities.
Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Help students to develop social skills, resilience, and self-regulation strategies.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and contributing to review meetings.
Requirements:
Experience working with young people with SEMH and behavioural needs (essential).
Ability to commit to full-time work during term time.
Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.
