The All England Club is seeking to appoint a Head of Energy and Environment to play a crucial role in energy management and decarbonisation of its iconic estate portfolio.
The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) is best known as the host of The Championships, Wimbledon, the world’s oldest Grand Slam tennis tournament. The AELTC has a rich history and tradition, offering world-class facilities and maintaining the highest standards of excellence. The Club is dedicated to promoting the sport and ensuring the continued success of the Championships, which attract the world's best players and millions of fans each year.
The AELTC has ambitious plans for the development and enhancement of its estate, which will have a transformative impact on the Championships while creating year-round benefits for the local community.
Reporting to the Estate Director, the Head of Energy and Environment will be a key member of the Estate Senior Leadership Team and lead on the development and implementation of the energy strategy and decarbonisation programme across the estate. The role leads a team responsible for energy management, sustainability, landscape & biodiversity and MEP design across the main site in SW19 (including the Wimbledon Park Project), and satellite sites in Raynes Park and Roehampton.
This role will include extensive stakeholder engagement and liaison, particularly across and within the Estate team considering development and operational requirements, also balancing needs of AELTC members, staff, Board, players, and both year-round and Championships visitors to serve our wider purpose and ambition.
The ideal candidate will be an individual with a demonstrable record of developing and delivering infrastructure, energy management and decarbonisation strategies on behalf of a large, complex organisation. You will be delivery-focused, with a track record of achieving significant performance improvements in energy management, as well as measurable results in decarbonisation programmes. You will possess excellent technical acumen and a keen interest and understanding of innovative technologies in this field.
You will be adept at leading and managing both internal and external teams of engineering and sustainability professionals, and will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills. We are seeking an individual that has exceptional stakeholder management skills and that will bring a high level of passion and enthusiasm to their role in supporting the success of the AELTC and the Championships.
