Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Depot Electrician / Maintenance Engineer who will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment within the depot and other facilities. This role ensures that all machinery and electrical components of Renewable Relocatable Energy Products are functioning safely and efficiently, supporting the smooth running of depot operations. The role involves proactive and reactive maintenance tasks as well as general engineering support. Open to Temporary and Contractors as well as Permanent starting week commencing 1st November.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
1. Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
2. 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
3. Certified in PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing) (preferred).
Experience:
1. Proven experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and installation, ideally within a depot or industrial environment.
2. Experience with diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out preventative maintenance.
3. Experience with general mechanical and facilities maintenance is desirable.
Skills:
1. Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and control circuits.
2. Ability to work with technical diagrams and schematics.
3. Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
4. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance and Repair:
1. Conduct routine maintenance checks on electrical systems, wiring, and machinery in line with company standards and regulations.
2. Troubleshoot electrical issues and repair faulty equipment promptly to minimise downtime.
3. Install, inspect, and test electrical equipment and systems in accordance with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
General Maintenance and Engineering Support:
1. Perform maintenance and repairs on non-electrical systems and equipment, such as mechanical systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing.
2. Assist with depot infrastructure repairs, including lighting, power supplies, and general building maintenance.
3. Support the implementation of depot projects, upgrades, and installations where electrical expertise is required.
Health & Safety Compliance:
1. Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, ensuring electrical work complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., IET Wiring Regulations).
2. Carry out electrical testing and provide certification of installations and repairs where required.
3. Ensure the safe operation of all equipment and systems by following risk assessments, safety procedures, and relevant legislation.
Documentation and Reporting:
1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including electrical tests, repairs, and installations.
2. Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and service reports on a daily basis to ensure compliance with company policies.
3. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements to depot equipment and infrastructure.
Collaborative Work:
1. Work alongside other maintenance engineers, depot staff, and external contractors to ensure timely and efficient repairs and installations.
2. Assist with the training and development of junior engineers or apprentices, as required.
