Job Title Auditor Function: Risk & Compliance Location: Nottingham/Alfreton/Hybrid Contract type: Permanent Salary: £38,627 with potential to rise to £45,562 over 3 years Closing Date: Wednesday 23 rd October 2024 NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for an Cost and Compliance Auditor to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first. We are seeking a detail-orientated and experienced Cost and Compliance Auditor, the purpose of this role, is too complete SCCL’s risk-based assurance programme. This programme provides assurance over SCCL’s contracts with key third party providers. These contracts are usually on an ‘open book’ basis. As SCCL is funded by public money it is important that we ensure our Service Providers are complying with the financial requirements of the contracts, as well as other key contractual obligations. Ultimately, assurance activities are designed to either recover amounts that have been incorrectly charged to the contract or identify process and control improvements to ensure that providers are well managed in relation to other key contractual obligations. The team typically conducts three different types of assurance activity: Cost Audits – These provide assurance that the costs charged against open book contracts are valid. Contract Audits – These provide assurance that appropriate controls are in place to ensure other key contract obligations are being met in a well-managed way. Internal Control Reviews – These assess the extent to which SCCL’s key internal controls are well designed and operating effectively. The roles are designed so that each Auditor owns specific contracts and delivers all the assurance activity for those contracts. Some contracts are larger and more complex than others and therefore the assurance activity requires greater skill and experience. Internal Control Reviews are conducted within SCCL using key control questionnaires. Every day you will … Produce the audit scoping documents for each audit to agree the scope, objective, proposed audit approach, information we require and the agreed timescales. Develop and complete the audit fieldwork based on the agreed audit approach; using Standard Operating Procedures and checklists as appropriate. Gather sufficient, reliable audit evidence to support their conclusions. Document the audit fieldwork to provide a clear and repeatable record of the work completed and associated conclusions. Review potential issues with the Audit Manager and validate them with the auditee. Regularly update the auditee about the audit’s progress and any emerging issues Evaluate internal control systems to ensure risk management, accuracy, and safeguards are in place for company assets. Prepare and present comprehensive reports detailing audit findings and recommendations for improvements. Work with a wide range of stakeholders during reviews and assist in resolving audit queries.
