Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and talented Full or Part-Time Cookery School Teacher
to join our dynamic team. As a cookery teacher at Thyme, you will be
responsible for delivering engaging, interactive, and informative cooking
classes to a wide range of students. You will have the opportunity to teach
both group and private lessons, covering a variety of cuisines and techniques.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys sharing their love of food, has
strong culinary expertise, and is enthusiastic about creating memorable
experiences for students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead hands-on cookery
classes, providing clear instructions and guidance to students of various
skill levels.
* Ensure the classroom is
a positive, supportive environment where students feel confident and
inspired.
* Prepare class materials,
recipes, and demonstrations in advance to ensure smooth class delivery.
* Maintain a clean,
organized kitchen space and ensure all health and safety standards are
met.
* Provide feedback and
encouragement to students, helping them develop their skills and
knowledge.
* Contribute to the
creation and development of new class offerings, including seasonal menus
and special events.
* Engage with students
during and after class, creating a friendly and approachable atmosphere.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a
cook, chef, or cookery teacher, with a strong understanding of cooking
techniques and kitchen skills.
* A passion for food and
cooking, with a desire to share knowledge and inspire others.
* Ability to communicate
effectively with students, providing clear instructions and
demonstrations.
* Flexible and adaptable,
with a willingness to teach a variety of classes.
* Previous teaching or
coaching experience is desirable but not essential.
* A relevant culinary
qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds) is an advantage but not a
requirement.
