UWCSEA is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of High School Mathematics to join our Dover Campus in August 2025.
The appointee will teach a range of classes from Grade 9 to Grade 12. UWCSEA offers all levels of IB Diploma Mathematics in Grades 11 and 12. In Grades 9 and 10, we offer our UWCSEA Learning Programme of bespoke courses. All students study Mathematics in Grade 9 and 10, and many opt to take an additional Mathematics Plus+ course. The successful candidate will demonstrate that they are an excellent and inspiring practitioner with the drive to continually develop within the profession. All high school teachers are also expected to teach Theory of Knowledge as needed.
The Mathematics Department is composed of enthusiastic and dynamic teachers who work in a very well-resourced environment for learning. Teaching takes place in dedicated Mathematics classrooms.

Main Responsibilities
* Teach a variety of mathematics classes in Grade 9-12 and contribute ideas and resources to our concept-based curriculum.
* Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Mathematics and broader High School teams.
* Construct learning experiences that challenge students, support the diversity of learners in each classroom, and demonstrate a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and learning.
* Ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant, and appropriate feedback to students on formative and summative assessments.
* Demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social, and emotional dimensions of learning.
* Keep parents informed about the learning of their children and be proactive in communication with parents.
* A good degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline and a recognized teaching qualification or certification are expected.
* Broad experience of curriculum program development with IBDP experience of the new IB Diploma AA and AI courses is a distinct advantage.
* Participate enthusiastically in Professional Learning.
* Lead a mentor group unless exempted due to other responsibilities.
* Contribute an average of two sessions per week in each season to Activities and/or Service.
* Participate eagerly in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics; Activities; Outdoor Education; Personal and Social Education; and Service.
* Participate enthusiastically in curricular Outdoor Education experiences relevant to their students and occasionally volunteer for holiday Outdoor Education trips.
* A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential alongside a willingness to adapt and develop pedagogy to meet the needs of our learners.
