Senior Pharmacy Technician Procurement and Distribution

This role involves the line management and leadership of the ordering, receiving, invoicing, and distribution teams to ensure that the right medicines are available for our patients in a timely manner. Managing stock levels, stocktakes, and medicines shortages are key roles for the senior technicians.
Main Duties of the Job
You will have experience of pharmacy service delivery at band 5 level and an interest in the management of procurement and distribution of medicines across the trust.
South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust has invested in modern pharmaceutical facilities including full electronic prescribing and administration, automated dispensaries, and extensive 7-day clinical services to enhance the patients' experience of care by improving the quality, safety, and effectiveness of their medicines utilization.
Job Responsibilities
* To provide a high-quality pharmacy procurement service for the trust.
* Provide leadership and management to the pharmacy staff working in the pharmacy store, ensuring professional and service standards are met.
* Work closely with the other lead technicians, IT systems manager, dispensary services, and Integrated Medicines Management Service managers.
* To participate in the dispensary weekend cover rota.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Pharmacy Level III with BTEC or equivalent underpinning knowledge
* Certified Business training or equivalent experience for Finance, planning, development of procedures, and other Business Administration.
Physical Skills
* Ability to sit at workstations as necessary to perform the post
Experience
* Significant experience at band 5 pharmacy technician or equivalent
* Experience of providing training and/or assessment
* Experience of management delivery, supervision, and supporting staff and other technicians.
Knowledge & Skills
* Adaptable
* Good team worker
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to prioritise own workload
* Ability to work to the challenges and deadlines of the post
