Job Description
* Oversee purchasing activities for specific categories within the company.
* Monitor and predict market trends to identify potential areas for savings.
* Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
* Collaborate with various department heads to forecast future supply needs.
* Develop and implement purchasing strategies to meet company objectives.
* Handle any supply issues to ensure continuity of supply.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
* Regularly report on purchasing activities and cost reductions.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Category Buyer should have:
* A degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
* Experience in a procurement and supply chain role, preferably in the Industrial / Manufacturing sector.
* Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
* Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
* Exceptional analytical and strategic planning abilities.
* A solid understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
