An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Prosthetics Service in WestMARC at the QEUH. This service provides lower limb prosthetics services to approximately 52% of Scotlands population. It functions as a self contained area within WESTMARC. The inpatients for this service are mainly based at The QEUH whilst outpatients, approximately 3000, come mainly from Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Ayrshire, Argyll, Forth Valley, Lanarkshire, Dumfries and Galloway and some other Scottish Health Boards.
Patient referrals are received by the service from:
* Primary patient referrals from the QEUH or other hospitals.
* Self referrals from existing patients and or carers.
* Referrals from General Practitioners, Consultants and other Health Care Professionals.
* Specialist Prosthetics Service referrals through National MDT
This post provides the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills including MDT working, service development, audit and leadership experience.
The post holder should have demonstrable highly specialist clinical skills/knowledge, from postgraduate courses/in service, as evidenced in your Continued Professional Development portfolio, with comprehensive knowledge of best practice / clinical guidelines / standards across prosthetic provision.
Applicants must be registered with HCPC and have substantial clinical experience. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
