We are headquartered in the UK, with additional offices in Australia, France, Latvia and the United States. The role This is an opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in credit control. You’ll gain experience in operating and reporting on credit processes, working closely with senior credit controllers to ensure optimal debt control, and collaborating with Customer Operations and other teams to maintain strong customer relationships. You will be responsible for the resolution and management of outstanding invoices and delinquent accounts. You’ll communicate directly with customers to answer their queries and agree payments, escalating for approval where necessary. You will produce and analyse ageing reports, and assist with tracking collection efforts and payment reminders (Dunning). Where necessary, you will escalate to senior credit controllers, in accordance with agreed policies. What excites you: Communicating with customers in a professional and timely manner to collect overdue payments and outstanding debts, in line with agreed credit terms Responding to and resolve queries from merchants Creating and distributing reports on outstanding debt and incoming payments Allocating customer payments and calculation up-to-date account balances Using business judgement to recommend credit notes or payment plans as appropriate, raising with management for approval Managing payment plans Supporting with account reconciliations What excites us: Previous work experience in finance or study in finance, or a degree that requires high numeracy skill Previous experience in credit control is a bonus but not essential Comfortable with assisting in resolving billing and credit queries Very customer service orientated A strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, who enjoys working with a wide range of people Ambitious and enthusiastic to develop a career in Credit/Finance at GoCardless You are well-versed in Excel (intermediate or above) and/ or Google Docs, Google Sheets A working knowledge of SalesForce, Looker, Billing Platform and Docusign CLM is a bonus but not a must Salary range: the expected base salary range for this position is between €1,850 and €2,150 (gross). Base salary ranges may vary and are determined by things like geography, level of experience, interview assessment and seniority compared to fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, there is no guarantee that an offer will reach the upper limit of the stated range.
