About your team:
You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.
We're looking for a dynamic Head of Business Development (Smart Home) with a proven track record in driving sales and innovation to join our fast-paced, forward-thinking team and take ownership of our ambitious growth strategy. The role is paying between £70k-£80k + benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead & Inspire: Motivate and manage a high-performing team of Senior Business Development Managers, empowering them to exceed sales targets and deliver outstanding results.
2. Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive strategy for the business development team, optimizing value across multiple sales channels and geographical regions, including the UK and Ireland.
3. Team Empowerment: Foster an inclusive, supportive leadership culture where all team members feel enabled to perform at their best and deliver top-tier customer outcomes.
4. Employee Engagement: Drive continuous engagement within the team, ensuring high morale and a culture of collaboration and excellence.
5. Revenue Growth: Deliver on volume and value targets by driving the growth of Hive, EV, subscriptions, and other Eco-Tech-related products through cross-sell strategies.
6. Optimized Acquisition: Focus on enhancing cross-boundary and channel availability to maximize our cost per acquisition across the product portfolio.
7. Stakeholder Relationships: Build and nurture strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, creating a matrixed team environment that promotes innovation and synergy.
8. Continuous Development: Identify opportunities for team development and foster a culture of continuous improvement through training, feedback, and the implementation of new processes and technologies.
9. Transformational Change: Lead the charge in implementing transformational change to improve processes and leverage technology to drive growth and efficiency.
The Person Requirements:
1. Proven track record in Sales and innovation and delivering performance across multiple different functions.
2. Strong ability to lead senior teams and maximise performance.
3. Keen interest and exposure to Smart Home products.
4. Creative and problem-solving skills to overcome barriers with solutions to deliver against agreed outcomes.
5. Strong analytical and inter-personal skills and a working knowledge of price optimisation software is an advantage.
6. Inquisitive and experienced in selling products with a passion for keeping our customers at the centre of all proposals.
