About this position:
We are currently working with a dynamic, experienced team of process control and automation specialists who work for some of the most demanding customers in the utilities, pharmaceuticals, food & drink and chemicals industries, and bring specialist support to projects that are being delivered by other service providers.
This company consists of technical experts who each have many years' direct experience in SCADA, MIS and PLC process control and automation. They are a specialist provider delivering consistently high-quality results and a personal service based on a relationship of trust that is as important to them as it is to their customers.
Job Responsibilities:
* Provide consultancy derived by industry experience in the area of Proposal Engineering for PLC/HMI/SCADA/Telemetry/Industrial Communication to drive efficiency in execution of all tenders.
* Be responsible for preparing and providing cost effective viable automation/electrical technical proposals based on customer/tender requirements by using the necessary engineering tools (e.g IAB).
* Consult with clients to get a full understanding of their specific project requirements.
* Ensure all proposals are delivered with exceptional quality, on time and continuously considerate to high levels of customer engagement/satisfaction.
* Complete detailed site surveys as required.
* Review scoping documentation, URS documentation and ascertain clarification on any queries.
* Accurately project hour-estimations for all engineering tasks.
* Participate in technical client meetings to meet requirements & gather scoping information.
* Facilitate in house technical meetings with management & engineering leads to discuss technical proposals.
* Generate proposals and accurate costings for bespoke, complex automation solutions.
* Issue & present proposals to clients, driving opportunities through to order via ongoing communications.
* Source subcontractor quotations, when required, to achieve full scope delivery. You will ensure all returned tenders are reviewed and validated to meet the requirements of the scope in its entirety.
* Track post-proposal interfaces with the client to ensure regularity and consistency of contact.
* Maintain trust & develop lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
* Liaise with marketing on any promotional materials or technical articles.
* Travel to customer sites as necessary to achieve the results as required by the job role.
* Detailed review of proposals collated by peers prior to issue.
* Maximise reusable standard product/engineering in Proposal generation.
* Follow all appropriate corporate, company, environmental, governmental, quality, safety and regulatory policies, procedures and standards for this position.
* Ensure all proposals meet 100% of the requirements defined in the scoping documentation/RFQ.
* Engage with the delivery teams to technically and accurately handover full proposal information at point of order conversion.
* Assist and lead, as necessary, framework applications.
* Utilise multiple tools, guidelines and procedures to prepare high-quality proposals.
* Suggest and help drive implementation of proposal process improvements.
* Demonstrate full accountability for assigned work, commitments (e.g. meetings) and deadlines.
Experience Required:
Control systems and control engineering.
Process knowledge.
PLC (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Schneider etc).
HMI/ SCADA (Rockwell FTView ME and SE, Siemens, WinCC, AVEVAI nTouch and System Platform, GE FIX, Mitsubishi etc).
Telemetry (GeoSCADA, Expert MIMM, Brodersen etc).
Electrical Control Panel design and commissioning.
Industrial Networking.
Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
Utilities & Infrastructure Industry.
Proposal Managers are expected to lead & champion the business sales pipeline through proactive engagement with a variety of customers.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
Ability to use & maintain all business systems for opportunities & proposals.
Familiarity with commercial & financial terminologies
