The Health Board wishes to appoint a full-time locum Consultant Dermatologist. The post will be based at either Wrexham Maelor Hospital or Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, with a requirement for cross-site working with peripheral clinics. Both posts will support the Ysbyty Gwynedd locality and will provide a variety of virtual and face-to-face Senior Medical cover as part of a hub and spoke model.
Main duties of the job
This post is a full-time position that has arisen due to a change in service model. There is a requirement for cross-site working with some peripheral clinics. The posts are for ten PA's per week, of which typically seven will be for direct clinical care (DCC) and three for supporting professional activity (SPA), as specified in the Welsh Consultant contract.
Dermatology is managed in the Community Directorate, which includes a mixture of community and some acute-based services, with the base for Dermatology remaining in the acute sectors of Wrexham Maelor Hospital and Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. The dermatology department has excellent relationships with the oral and maxillofacial department, which provides head and neck plastic surgery services in North Wales.
There is no out-of-hours on-call requirement for this post.
