Taylor Hopkinson has been retained by Vårgrønn to recruit a Senior Transmission O&M Engineer. This role will work predominantly on the co-ordination of transmission O&M activities for a flagship Offshore Wind Farm, evolving across other offshore wind projects in the portfolio.

Vårgrønn holds a 20% share in Dogger Bank, the world's largest offshore windfarm under construction, and a 27.4% share in the operational Baltic 2 Offshore windfarm in the German Baltic Sea. These partnerships in particular will provide Vårgrønn with an opportunity to build operational knowledge and experience in managing offshore wind farms, complementing the existing portfolio of projects under development and construction.
Together with Flotation Energy, Vårgrønn been awarded exclusivity to develop the two floating offshore wind projects Green Volt and Cenos in Scotland with a combined capacity of up to 1.9 GW. Green Volt is on track to become Europe's first commercial scale floating offshore wind farm.

The role:
During Execution Phase:
* Prepare/review system operation manuals and define maintenance and fault preparedness needs.
* Participate in Transmission system design reviews, technical clarifications, acceptance tests, system walkdowns and handovers for ensuring safe and efficient design for operational use.
* Follow up multiple interfaces for the Transmission scope of the project development as the O&M representative.
* Contribute to competence profile strategy for the offshore technicians who will provide 1st line support to offshore platform.
* Define and plan maintenance and inspection strategies and lead relevant O&M contract preparations and tenders.
* Engage in experience transfer and learning from other similar Transmission systems.
* Short term business travels offshore, domestically and internationally as required.
* Manage co-ordination with all different parties (suppliers, JV partners, TSO, National Grid).
During Operational Phase:
* Be responsible for safe and efficient operation, maintenance and fault response of the Transmission system assets.
* Prepare technical documentation for OFTO O&M service offer and engage in the OFTO divestment process.
* Management of transmission contractors, including day-to-day interface with OFTO.
* Review loss of availability from transmission system, provide analysis and collaborate to recommend improvements to asset and maintenance.
* Collaborate with other asset O&M engineers to support the operation and maintenance of all wind farm assets.
* Ensure high quality maintenance and safety information is captured and processed in corporate systems in line with management system processes.
* Prepared to be part of an on-call rotation for the windfarms.
* Short term business travels offshore, domestically and internationally as required.
* Manage co-ordination with all different parties (suppliers, JV partners, TSO, National Grid).
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering or similar, however relevant industry experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
* Experience negotiating EPC contracts in the offshore wind industry.
* Contract Management and execution experience.

* Possess a proactive mindset and a structured approach to problem-solving.
* Technical, operational and maintenance experience in HVDC transmission systems.
* Be or become Authorised as a Senior Authorised Person (Previous/Current 400kV Authorisation Desirable).
* Hands-on and proactive, prepared to work offshore as and when required.
