HR Internship Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity for a postgraduate seeking an HR internship within a global organisation. This internship can last up to two years. As a member of the HR Department, you will actively contribute and provide comprehensive employee-cycle support to the HR and Payroll Team, in line with company policy and legislation. You will also play a key role in implementing and monitoring training campaigns and fleet management, as well as participating in employee relations cases and country HR projects as they arise. Qualifications: • A degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field is essential • Experience in an HR Administrator/HR Assistant role or office administration is desirable but not essential. • A 'can-do' attitude is crucial, as you will handle administrative tasks while gaining exposure to HR tasks to develop your skill set. Ideally, after the internship, you can progress to an HR Coordinator/Officer or HR Junior Advisor role. Internship Details: • Start as a 1-year internship with the potential to extend to 2 years, with increased HR responsibilities. Responsibilities: • Manage the HR mailbox (on a rota basis with another intern), answering general employee queries, password resets, references, and payment of invoices. • Handle internal communications, including the monthly newsletter and general email communications from the HR mailbox. • Provide end-to-end support with the recruitment process for interns, progressing to junior positions within the company, including involvement in interviews and updating social media vacancies. • Assist with the onboarding process, including creating offer letters and contracts, right-to-work and reference checks, processing on our HR system, preparing induction packs, and liaising with Payroll. Progress to conducting inductions, probation reviews, and processing employee cycle changes through to offboarding. • Conduct internal audit checks of the HR system, driving licenses, visas, Barclaycard for travel expenses, and data preparation for internal reporting or company audits. • Administer and coordinate training needs for employees. • Support Compensation & Benefits activities, such as the company sales bonus plan and the Reward and Recognition program. • Manage the pool car(s) and car fleet, including car trackers and fuel cards. • Support ER cases on an ad hoc basis, initially with minute-taking, progressing to conducting investigations and creating basic letters. • Participate in HR and Payroll Team projects, such as the rollout of a new HR system, Time & Attendance System, ESG initiative, and setting up a graduate assessment day. • Serve as a First Aid Appointed Person, taking control of the scene and calling for emergency services, followed by paperwork as confirmed by the Health and Safety Manager. • Act as a Fire Warden, supporting the group Health and Safety Manager to ensure the Basildon office meets fire safety regulations. • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Skills & Abilities: • Graduate with a degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field. • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook). • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral. • Enthusiastic and willing to learn with a ‘can-do’ attitude. • Self-starter with a positive and customer-focused attitude. • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. • Eligibility to work in the UK. • Previous HR experience is desirable but not required. Full training and development will be provided. • First Aid Appointed Person and Fire Warden experience is desirable but not required. Full training will be provided. Additional Information: • This is a hybrid opportunity with attendance required 3 days a week in Basildon. • Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (37.5 hours per week). • Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum.
