Fairfield Hospital has a 6 bedded Critical Care servicing the local population with specialist input for ENT Services, low risk cardiac surgery and services a local Stroke Hub. Salford Royal Critical Care is a leading specialist centre for Major Trauma, Neurosciences, Upper GI and Intestinal Failure within Greater Manchester. The Critical Care floor covers 40 level 2 & 3 beds.
Main duties of the job
You will need to demonstrate strong leadership, organisational and communication skills and will need to be an expert in all areas of nursing within the critical care. You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the critical care floor and for ensuring excellent care of the highest standard is delivered to all our patients. You will manage, support and lead a team of nurses in the provision of evidence based, quality patient centred care.
You will also provide specialist advice to patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching. You will monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.
The practitioner will manage the delivery of patient care on a daily basis. They should be expert in all areas of critical care nursing from patient's admission to discharge, which facilitates clinical practice development. They have overall responsibility for day-to-day management of their clinical area and for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures maintaining associated records. They will manage, support and lead a team of nurses in the delivery of evidence based patient centred care, which is of a high standard.
