Network Infrastructure Engineer (Linux)
Our trusted partner, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to their customers within the UK, is hiring a Network Infrastructure Engineer to provide BAU / Project support within a Windows/Linux operating environment, data centre management, and improvement to our clients' networking components. Our client is looking to pay £55,000 + benefits to be based outside of Maidstone on a hybrid basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a medium-sized corporation that has grown tremendously in the past two years, being passionate about people at the forefront of their business operations.
The chosen Network Infrastructure Engineer must have demonstrable capabilities in 3rd Line escalation support, gaining extensive exposure to Azure/365, VMware ESXi/vSphere, and Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu) and command-line tools.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Configuring and installing hardware in both office and data centre environments.
2. Provisioning new network services and deploying software applications.
3. Ensuring seamless integration and performance of networking components.
4. Acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues and projects.
5. Maintaining and optimising ESXi infrastructure and VMware environments.
6. Leading and participating in software and hardware deployment projects.
Core Skill Set Requirements:
1. Linux OS exposure (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.).
2. Azure/365 cloud experience to a proficient level.
3. Data Centre Management experience.
4. VMware ESXi / vSphere capabilities.
5. Networking integration and performance experience.
6. Previous experience working within consultancy / MSP / ISP / Telecommunications.
7. Client-facing capabilities, experience interacting with stakeholders / c-suite staff.
