We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Health & Safety team at Thermatic Group. As a Thermatic Health & Safety Advisor, you are the first point of contact for H&S guidance for varied stakeholders across our group of companies, with the majority of focus on our FM business (Thermatic Technical FM). You will be a trusted, autonomous support in both the office and field environments, helping our mobile engineering teams and head-office based account teams find solutions for issues and ensuring our core service is delivered smoothly and safely. As our engineer workforce and client-base is situated across the UK, national travel will be expected of this role. The successful candidate need not be based close to our Head Office in Manchester but will be expected to attend Head Office as required. As a H&S Advisor, you'll have a wide range of responsibility with key elements being to: Provide strategic advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team, managers, and colleagues on compliance with H&S legislation, guidance and good practice. Assis with implementation ofthe strategic and operational delivery of H&S policies and procedures, colleague training, and awareness raising. Complete annual SSIP accreditations. Ensur organisational compliance with our client on-site health and safety requirements. Produce audit, compliance, and performance reports for client and Thermatic purposes. Manage H&S training budget across the Thermatic Group. Assist the upkeep of the ISO certificates, including during audits Thermatic Technical FM provide complete nationwide coverage, across the full spectrum of Hard FM services to large, commercial clients. Our team of national, mobile engineers are supported by the account teams at Head Office to provide both reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services to our clients. Skills, Experience & Qualifications: Essential: NEBOSH General or Construction certificate (essential) Membership of IOSH (minimum Technical level) with evidence of CPD NEBOSH Diploma/level 6 NVQ (or working towards) in Occupational Safety & Health. Minimum 2 years’ experience in an operational occupational Health & Safety role. In-depth knowledge of building related safety issues including asbestos, legionella, fire & gas safety In-depth knowledge of work at height, PUWER, LOLER, accident investigation, work related stress, lone working. Desirable: Operational experience in occupational health & safety in the FM sector. Certified IOSH membership level. Technical qualifications (including gas, AC, electrical or drainage) The ideal candidate will: Have calm competence, acting as the health and safety subject matter expert, delivering advice and being available to a wide variety of stakeholders. Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills to deal with different customers and departments within the business Be confident in field, ability to think on the fly and to make informed decisions under pressure. Demonstrate attention to detail, strong organisational skills and concise report writing ability. Prioritise keeping updated on legal and technical health and safety requirements and standards, attending seminars and expos as the business need allows.
