Key Responsibilities
1. Go-to person for the wet-lab questions and dataset building, related to validation of AML targets.
2. Contribute to target discovery and validation of additional targets (solid cancers, autoimmune).
3. Independently act as a representative of TI/TV group at two AML programme teams, supporting programme leader/co-leaders, and contributing proactively to discussions, planning and hypotheses testing, in collaboration with Pipeline Biology and Drug Discovery/PE teams.
4. TI/TV representative at AML oncology working group, deepening AML expertise in IMCR, bringing forward independent scientific ideas for the in-house and external development of AML models.
5. Based on the long-term experience in academic AML field, advance IMCR pipeline AML programmes, by reaching out to suitable KOLs in the field, building novel collaborations and testing novel scientific hypotheses.
6. Represent TI/TV leader at PTMs, working groups and other cross-functional meetings and act as interface between Target Identification & Validation and other Research groups.
7. Develop and optimise novel assays to improve TI&V workflows (e.g. Colony forming assay LSC/HSC, Multiplex Flow cytometry, CRISPR etc).
8. Contribute to research publications, conference attendance, training processes.
9. Supervise and mentor junior team members.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
1. In-depth knowledge of AML disease biology, optimal disease models and KOLs.
2. Strong experience in dealing with AML primary cells, LSC/HSC isolation, colony forming assays and immune-phenotyping.
3. Excellent Communication skills - Ensuring information and learnings are passed on correctly and in a timely way throughout the organization.
4. Shown flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques and practices.
5. Track record in scientific excellence as demonstrated by project/technology development.
6. Teamwork - Working cooperatively as part of a team.
Desirable
1. Understanding of the drug discovery process post-target nomination.
