Job Overview
We have a vacancy for a Nurse Vaccinator to support a new vaccine programme for pregnant women alongside the current vaccination offer. We are looking for an enthusiastic registered midwife or nurse to facilitate the maternity immunisation service. The appointed candidate will possess exemplary communication skills to complete our team delivering this vital protection to our families during pregnancy.
The post holder will promote the programme to pregnant women to improve the uptake of vaccines in pregnancy, in addition to running daily planned clinics and ad hoc to deliver flu, pertussis, and RSV vaccines. Our ideal candidate is confident with clinical records systems, skilled in discussing the benefits of vaccinations in pregnancy, and efficient in delivering these in a fast-paced environment.
This is a fixed-term post for 24 months initially.

Main Duties of the Job
1. Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality antenatal immunisation service to pregnant women to increase the uptake of influenza, pertussis, RSV, and other necessary immunisations.
2. Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the antenatal immunisation programme delivery.
3. Provide advice and information about immunisation to educate staff, antenatal women, and other stakeholders.
4. Take a woman-centred and public health approach to improve health and tackle inequalities.
5. Maintain and update electronic records.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current NMC Registration
* Evidence of CPD including vaccine training, basic life support, anaphylaxis management
* Experience in administration of vaccination/IM medication
* Experience in administration onto vaccination systems/maternity
Knowledge
* Previous experience of working in clinical settings
* Aware of health and safety issues within the maternity unit
* Aware of role within Public Health domain
* Has knowledge to use specialist equipment required for role: resuscitation/anaphylaxis
* Understanding of Confidentiality and Data Protection
* Experience in data collection for reporting
* Involvement with the immunisation programme
Skills
* Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with good interpersonal skills
* Able to work as part of a team and actively participate in team meetings
* Able to maintain and record accurate documentation
* Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Able to manage and prioritise own workload
* Able to work according to protocols under clinical supervision
