The creation of the NHS Wales Executive from 1 April 2023 is an essential part of making the health system in Wales fit for the future and achieving A Healthier Wales vision of a whole-system approach to providing excellent health and social care across Wales. Working on behalf of the Welsh Government, the Executive's role is to provide strong leadership and strategic direction and enable and support the delivery of national priorities and standards.
Within the new NHS Wales Executive (the Executive), newly configured National Strategic Clinical Networks are a key component of the National Clinical Framework (NCF) model. National Strategic Clinical Networks perform the central role of the 'knowledge-to-practice' element in the Learning Health and Care System laid out in the National Clinical Framework. Their position within the Executive enables them to play a role in fulfilling the expectations set out in the Executive's Mandate and Remit Letter.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will support the Strategic Network Manager to:
* Provide national direction on how best to organise, deploy and develop resources.
* Determine and promulgate ways to secure improved outcomes by using evidence-based approaches to delivery.

Job responsibilities
This role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, results-focused individual to shape and deliver exciting projects of work within a National Strategic Clinical Network (NSCN) to support health boards/trust to improve the delivery of key health services across Wales.
As an Assistant Network Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing healthcare outcomes and transforming healthcare delivery. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting the Network Manager in providing leadership and direction within the clinical network support team. This post will enable the Network Team in ensuring the efficient operation and alignment of clinical networks with organisational goals and work plans.
The role will oversee the monitoring and reporting against identified key performance indicators, using a variety of data sources. They will lead in stakeholder engagement and communication strategy, building effective relationships with clinical and managerial colleagues both internal and external to the NHS Wales.
Your expertise will be crucial in driving collaborative efforts among healthcare professionals, facilitating data-driven decision-making, and implementing innovative solutions to address healthcare challenges.
The post holder will provide programme management skills to the Strategic Network, offering oversight of all activity within the team, in addition to management of individual projects. This will include preparing for and chairing group meetings and responsibility for reporting of progress, including the tracking of outcomes, benefits realisation, and spending for the work programme.
The post holder will need to develop good relationships and work closely with a broad range of partners including the National Clinical Leads, Chairs, Welsh Government, Health Board colleagues, patients, third sector and other stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of the work plan. The duties and responsibilities set out below are not intended to be exhaustive but indicate the main areas of activity currently expected. There is an expectation that the post holder will adopt a flexible approach to supporting the Strategic Network as required, with the agreement of the Strategic Network Manager, in addition to line management of the wider Network Team.

Qualifications
* Fully qualified in a professional discipline which may be clinical, allied health or managerial.
* Educated to relevant Master's Degree level in a clinical, allied health or managerial subject, or equivalent experience at a senior level in a healthcare related role.
* Evidence of relevant Continuing Professional Development.
