About the Role
The Internal Audit Service provides assurance across the wide and varied activities of the Combined Authority, and this is a unique opportunity to join us.
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and strategic-thinking Audit Manager to manage all aspects of the delivery of a high quality professional internal audit service to the organisation. As the organisation changes and devolution increases, so does the scope of the audit team.
About the Person
You will be a highly experienced internal auditor, capable of managing a large and complex portfolio of internal audit work delivered by a team of internal auditors. You need to be able to engage strategically and authentically with all levels of the business, and you’ll have the personal confidence and credibility to do this with aplomb. Enthusiastic, professional and a strong communicator, you will have a sound knowledge of the principles and application of risk-based auditing, audit planning, risk management and the Internal Audit Standards. Key attributes for the role include the ability to build strong professional relationships, and to negotiate, influence and challenge. You’ll also need to be a good people manager and take the initiative in all aspects of the role, to support the Head of Internal Audit in delivering the strategic vision for the service.
