We are seeking four dynamic Engagement Officers to join our high-performing team. About the Role: As an Engagement Officer, you will play a crucial role in connecting individuals with barriers to employment opportunities. You will work closely with local residents, employers, and community partners to: Raise awareness: Promote Connect to Work services and support local residents to access this service. Build employer relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses to identify and secure job vacancies. Conduct outreach: Engage with local communities, primary care networks and other organisations to identify and reach individuals who could benefit from our services. The ideal candidate: Passionate about supporting individuals with barriers and promoting social inclusion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Experience in customer service, outreach, or community engagement Knowledge of the local labour market and Tower Hamlets community resources The Team The Supported Employment Team are based within the Employment & Skills team, assisting local people to access employment via placements and traineeships hosted at external organisations or temporary appointments within the Council. We work with clients who may need additional and targeted support such as care leavers, people with learning disabilities, women returning to the labour market, people aged 50plus and any other group who is furthest labour. The Engagement Officer is a 4 year fixed term contract.
