We are seeking a motivated, client-centric Accounts Support Assistant to join a well-established accountancy and business advisory firm based in Shepperton, Surrey. This fully office-based role is ideal for individuals who are developing their accounting skills and looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Position Details:
* Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
* Location: Shepperton, Surrey, with occasional travel to the West Horsley branch
* Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 (dependent on experience)
Important Note on Location & Transport
While Shepperton is not in a rural area, public transport options are limited. Having a valid driving licence and access to a car would be highly beneficial for a more straightforward commute. This is a fully office-based role with occasional travel required to the West Horsley branch.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and account reconciliations
* Support the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns
* Help maintain accurate client records, ensuring timely and compliant financial reporting
* Communicate with clients to gather information and address queries under guidance
* Contribute to process improvements and the adoption of new technologies
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualifications: Studying towards or holding Level 2/3 AAT or equivalent is beneficial but not essential
* Experience: Some previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping environment is advantageous
* Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (Xero, Sage) and solid MS Excel skills
* Communication & Organisation: Excellent communication, organisational abilities, and keen attention to detail
* Professional Development: A proactive, growth-oriented mindset, eager to learn and support colleagues
* Driving Licence: Having a valid driving licence and access to a car is highly beneficial due to limited public transport options
