With some of the UK's most well-known brands as our customers/partners, the right candidate will be a seasoned professional with a broad set of capabilities and be comfortable in leading in technical, managerial, and business areas. Key responsibilities include: (but not limited to): Understanding business/client needs, owning these from technical concept to deployment. Managing the product feature pipeline. Leading and managing the existing Engineering team – setting objectives, ensuring deadlines are met, and reporting on performance. Managing Azure cloud infrastructure. Overseeing cybersecurity risks and create robust protection strategies. Respond to IT security audits and questionnaires. Representing the company in interactions with key clients. Driving continuous improvement in the development function. Overseeing development activities, including code reviews. KPI tracking for management. Assisting the Management Team with IT Strategy. Reducing technical debt, running costs, and enhancing efficiencies. Digital transformation initiatives and technology roadmap formulation. Overseeing the technical team, recruiting, onboarding, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Overseeing Agile frameworks, managing defects, and waste. Creation of business cases and guiding software product development in an agile environment. Designing and maintaining software architecture. Essential experience: Proven experience as a development team leader or Engineering Lead for a minimum of 5 years. Experience managing Azure cloud infrastructure. Strong DevOps background with a grasp on operations, networking, cloud architectures, DevOps automations, and best practices. Expertise in .NET. Practical knowledge of cybersecurity practices with an ability to create policies and answer cybersecurity questionnaires. Holds a professional/academic qualification in IT, Data or Software Engineering Desirable skills: Technology roadmap design and innovation for future product versions. Market awareness and the ability to advise on best practices for modernisation. Expertise in system architecture and design. Technical debt management. Integration strategy development. Performance optimisation. Security and compliance adherence. Disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Capacity planning. Knowledge management and comprehensive documentation.
