Financial Controller 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday £60k to £70k per annum depending on experience.

Job Summary
To provide accurate, timely and relevant financial information to drive company performance and inform short and long-term decision making, within an effective system of financial controls.
To support the CFO in leading the finance team, ensuring we imbed a culture of profitable growth across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide information and analysis to assist in determining the tactical and strategic direction of the business. This role is the key business partner for the Production and Logistic Director roles.
Lead risk management through a system of financial controls, compliance with accounting and tax requirements and ensuring we have an appropriate insurance portfolio.
Lead the Stock Costing process, ensuring we have accurate costs to inform product margin decision making. To lead the management of our stock cost model, ensuring it accurately values stock, reflecting labour, raw material and energy cost assumptions.
Budgeting and Planning:
* Work with key business partners to deliver short term plans in the form of annual budget, quarterly forecast and cash flow forecasting.
* Monitor performance against plan, provide financial and management reports monthly, highlighting deviations from plan and advise on possible corrective action.
* Support the delivery of a coherent financial business plan based on the strategic decisions of senior management.
Finance Team:
* Support the CFO and FP&A lead in leading the Finance Team (# 3) providing clear objectives and development plans, continually reviewing performance.
* Formulate, implement and ensure compliance with accounting policy in line with accounting standards (UK GAAP) and as agreed with auditors.
* Ensure compliance with regards to tax including PAYE and VAT regulations.
* Assess adequacy and reliability of financial information systems and make recommendations for improvements.
* Manage relationships with auditors, providing them with all information required and facilitate the annual audit.
* Manage the relationship with our bank, HSBC, ensuring we have an effective set of controls and processes to enhance cash management and compliance with our covenants.
Information and Analysis to Inform Decision Making
* Identify and report on key success factors, such as profitability, efficiency and operating gearing, to inform short term and long-term decision making.
* Provide financial analysis to identify costs and benefits of investment proposals as well as benefit realisation of investments undertaken.
Risk Management and Financial Controls
* Develop policies and procedures, in consultation with senior management, to control expenditure and contain costs including purchase authorisation and the authorisation and control of major capital purchases and business projects.
* Develop and monitor financial controls to safeguard the assets of the business including payment controls, credit policy, stock and cash management as well as implementation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
* Manage and update insurance portfolio to ensure all aspects of risk are covered.
Education & Qualifications
* Accounting Qualification from a recognised accounting body (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Financial modelling, analysis and reporting.
* Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.
* Knowledge of manufacturing, stock management systems (Desirable)
* Leadership, oral and written communication.
* Organisation and administration skills.
* Flexibility and adaptability.
* IT Skills – Advanced Excel, Office, Outlook, Retail Systems (EPOS, Reporting), computerised accounting system.
* Creative and innovative approach.
