Payroll Officer Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team and provide support for the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
* Collate new starter, amendment, and leaver forms.
* Attach new employees to monthly payrolls and process payments/deductions.
* Collect and process timesheets for monthly payrolls.
* Set up and manage elements such as rent, services, subsistence, and touring allowance.
* Data input of basic hours, overtime, holiday, and absences.
* Ensure leavers are paid or deducted holiday pay.
* Calculate Statutory payments such as maternity, paternity, and adoption pay.
Requirements
* Prior experience in payroll processing.
* Familiarity with current HMRC legislation.
* An understanding of calculating tax and national insurance.
* Excellent attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
* Numeracy skills, including proficiency in Excel.
* Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
* Proactive and flexible approach.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Working Arrangements
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 12 months based in Stratford-upon-Avon. Our Finance department operates a hybrid model, with team members typically working 2-3 days remotely each week.
Salary
£30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
