Activus Recruitment are assisting our client recruit an experienced Site Engineer to join their innovative and growing team due to new contract awards. The role is a full-time, permanent position, based at the main office in Westhill, Aberdeenshire and covering sites across the UK.
The Requirements
1. Minimum 5 years' experience in Civil Engineering work in various roles including setting out and site work supervision.
2. The ability to manage, coordinate and maintain multiple task requirements.
3. Awareness and understanding of contracting principles.
4. Strong civil engineering sector knowledge and business understanding.
5. Multi utility knowledge beneficial.
6. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Packages.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Ability to work well in a team.
9. Ability to think strategically and to assist in problem solving.
10. Good organisational and time management skills.
11. Commercial awareness.
12. Be flexible and have an enthusiastic approach to working in sometimes challenging conditions.
13. Promote a strong Health & Safety culture.
14. Hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
15. SSSTS/SMSTS Card.
16. CPCS Card.
The Duties
1. Assist with the preparation of tenders.
2. Liaise with clients and Statutory Bodies.
3. Provide accurate information to line managers regarding progress.
4. Assist with preparation and issue of Job Instructions and ensure Toolbox Talks are completed correctly.
5. Carry out regular site visits.
6. Setting out of site works.
7. Prepare "as-Built” Drawings as required by Customers for awarded contracts.
8. Assist QHSE Systems Manager in delivering Health & Safety and promoting compliance throughout the Company.
9. Assist QHSE to assess risk and produce relevant RAMS as required.
10. Assist Contracts Manager with the requisition of materials as required.
11. Any other related duties/tasks assigned.
Responsibilities
1. Assist Quantity Surveyor to ensure that projects under your control are fully measured and valued, promptly and accurately.
2. Responsible for employee issues within the team and reporting to line manager for assistance when necessary.
